I study at George Brown college for early childhood education. I have experienced working with children. When I was In elementary school, I would help the kindergartens, grades ones and twos. I would help them get ready for recess time, getting them ready for home time and helped them work on their worksheets. I assisted the grades ones and twos with their reading and helped them with their work. When I was In grade 12, I did my co-op placement In a grade three class. I assisted them with their work, sometimes I took them out for recess, led them back to their class and I helped some of the children with their reading. I did my first placement over the summer last year and I did my placement In a preschool room. I assisted with various routines and transitions like cleaning the tables, setting out the beds, sweeping the floor, serving the children food and getting the children ready to go outside.
I did my second placement In a school age classroom over the fall semester of last year and I did my third placement In a toddler room over the winter semester of this year. I would assist In preparing the snacks with the ece teachers, do attendance when It was lunch time and snack time like calling out the children's names to make sure they were In the room, supervising the children when It was recess time, planning activities for the children, signing out the children at the end of the day when their parents would come pick them up. For my third placement, I would plan activities for the children, write the number of children that were In the room and out of the room when their parents would come pick them up, serve them lunch and snack, set out their beds and help them go to sleep.
I did my fourth placement In a kindergarten room over the spring semester and I would help the children with their work, helping them get ready for lunch recess time, supervising them during lunch recess, lead them to their other classes, planned activities, preparing snack for afterschool, taking attendance when they would finish school, making sure all of the children had snack and announcing to the children how many minutes until when snack time would be over, taking the snack cart to the kitchen, taking attendance when the children were lined up to go outside for the end of the day and outside and signing them out when their parents would come pick them up.
