Hi! My name is Michelle Barash, and I am a recent BSN nursing graduate from the University of Alabama with extensive experience caring for children of all ages.
I began babysitting at a young age and have cared for children from a wide range of backgrounds. Over the years, I have developed strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to adapt to each child’s unique needs.
I have spent multiple summers working as an ocean lifeguard and swim instructor at a beach club on Long Island. These roles taught me the importance of safety, adaptability, and calm decision-making. As a lifeguard, I confidently handled emergency situations, and as a swim instructor, I learned how to provide individualized instruction and build trust with children.
In addition to my childcare experience, I have worked as a Nurse Extern at a Level I Trauma Hospital and as a Nurse Intern in the Emergency Department. My nursing clinical experience includes pediatrics, labor and delivery, the ICU, long-term acute care, and emergency medicine. Through these experiences, I have developed a strong foundation in attentiveness, empathy, and safety.
I hold certifications in Red Cross ACLS, CPR, AED, Water Safety Instruction, and Ocean Lifeguarding.
I am responsible, trustworthy, and reliable, and I pride myself on being kind, patient, and empathetic. I am also a strong critical thinker and problem solver, always prioritizing the safety and well-being of the children in my care.
