I first discovered my love for childcare in 2015, when I worked as an au pair for a sweet 3‑year‑old boy. From 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., I was by his side, preparing his meals, getting him ready for daycare, administering his asthma treatment, helping with his math and English homework, taking him to after‑school activities three days a week, giving him his evening shower, and gently settling him into bed.

I now work in a school setting with elementary students in a special education classroom, where I provide emotional, behavioral, and academic support every day. This experience has made me patient, attentive, and very comfortable supporting children with different needs and personalities.

I am CPR‑certified, have my own car, and am truly hoping to find a warm, kind family who is looking for someone they can genuinely rely on to care for their children. My schedule is fully open on weekends and occasionally during weekdays, and I would be delighted to become a caring and dependable part of your family’s routine.

My skills and interests:

  • Fitness
  • Nature
  • Animals
  • Gardening

Top 10 Tips For Hiring A Wedding Babysitter

Follow these handy tips for hiring a wedding babysitter to make sure the little guests are happy and the adults can celebrate stress-free.

1. Hire early

Secure babysitters well in advance, as weddings often fall on busy weekends.

2. Check experience

Choose sitters with proven childcare experience, ideally with multiple children and event settings.

3. Run background checks

Verify references, qualifications, and certifications (like CPR and first aid). See our guides for more information:

4. Ask about ratios

Make sure there are enough sitters for the number and ages of children attending. You may need to hire multiple wedding babysitters.

5. Clarify duties

Define whether babysitters are supervising during the ceremony, reception, or in a separate childcare room.

6. Provide entertainment

Ensure babysitters bring or can organize age-appropriate games, crafts, and activities.

7. Discuss meals

Plan ahead for kid-friendly food and snacks that babysitters can easily serve.

8. Set boundaries

Decide on locations where kids will stay (kids’ corner, separate room, outdoor space) and communicate rules.

9. Plan for bedtime

If the reception runs late, arrange a quiet area or sleeping setup for younger children.

10. Keep parents informed

Make sure babysitters have contact numbers and a system for reaching parents quickly if needed.

Wedding Babysitter Interview Questions

Ask the following questions when interviewing wedding babysitter candidates to narrow down your list.

Childcare Experience

  • Have you babysat at weddings or large events before?
  • What ages of children do you have the most experience with?
  • How many children are you comfortable caring for at once?
  • Have you ever handled group care (crafts, games, or activities for multiple kids)?

Responsibilities & Activities

  • What kinds of activities would you plan to keep kids entertained during a wedding?
  • Are you comfortable supervising children in both indoor and outdoor spaces?
  • Can you manage transitions (like moving kids from the ceremony area to a kids’ room)?
  • How would you handle children who don’t want to be separated from their parents?

Safety & Health

  • Are you certified in CPR and first aid?
  • How do you handle food allergies or dietary restrictions?
  • What would you do if a child became upset, sick, or injured during the event?
  • How do you ensure safety in busy, distracting environments like a reception?

Communication

  • How do you keep parents informed throughout the evening?
  • What’s your approach if a child is struggling and wants their parent?
  • How would you handle conflicts between children?

Logistics & Availability

  • Are you available for the full duration of the wedding (ceremony through reception)?
  • Are you comfortable staying late into the evening or overnight if needed?
  • Do you require a set space (like a kids’ room) or can you adapt to different setups?
  • Do you work solo, or do you recommend bringing additional sitters for larger groups?

Personality & Fit

  • What do you enjoy most about babysitting at events?
  • How do you handle high-energy or shy children in a new setting?
  • Why do you think you’d be a good fit for our wedding?
