A Science Nerd in the Nursing Field
Hello! My name is Serria, and I’m so glad you’re considering me to care for your little one. I’m currently a nursing student at the University of Texas at Arlington, and I’ll be entering my Upper Division clinicals next fall. Because of my program requirements, I’ve completed a Level 5 background check with the Texas Board of Nursing, and I have my blue card ready to show anytime. I’m also fully vaccinated and up-to-date on my flu shot, and I have confirmed immunity — so kiddo germs don’t shake me one bit.
I bring a mix of warmth, safety, and educational support to the families I work with. I’m trained in CPR and First Aid, and I have a strong foundation in medical knowledge from my nursing studies, so your child would be in capable and attentive hands.
On the fun and learning side — I love tutoring and can support your child in science, math, and language arts. I’m also an intermediate ASL signer and can keep up with conversations, so I’m happy to incorporate signing into daily routines. I’m passionate about languages and would be excited to help create a dual-learning environment if that’s something your family values.
Most of all, I understand how much trust it takes to leave your child with someone. I’m here to bring peace of mind, safe care, and a supportive, engaging environment for your little one to grow in.
I’d love the chance to meet you and see if we’d be a good fit for your family.

About Me Hi, I’m Serria — a childcare provider with a unique blend of life experience, STEM expertise, and genuine, long-standing responsibility for little ones.
Professional Background Before beginning my nursing path, I worked for the State of Florida cultivating medicinal plants used for therapeutic and pharmaceutical purposes. I also managed operations for one of the largest exotic-plant wholesalers in the U.S.
I’ve worked with NASA as well, where I prototyped an electronic device for astronaut use; that project is patented, and my name now sits aboard the International Space Station.
Academically, I’ve completed over 50 STEM college credits, ranging from algebra and contemporary math to organic chemistry and A&P I & II.
I am fluent in ASL and fully comfortable communicating with Deaf and hard-of-hearing children.
Why Trust Me With Your Child? While I don’t hold formal childcare certificates, I’ve had a lifetime of hands-on experience. I’m the oldest of eight siblings and grew up helping raise five of them from infancy through childhood. That role shaped me into someone reliable, attentive, patient, and deeply protective of little ones.
My upbringing wasn’t easy, but I rose above every statistic placed in front of me — avoiding teen pregnancy, graduating high school, becoming the first in my family to earn a college degree, and now pursuing my BSN. Caring for younger children has been a constant part of my life, not as a hobby, but as a responsibility I took seriously from an early age.
I am CPR- and First Aid-certified, medically knowledgeable through my nursing education, and fully capable of keeping children safe while supporting their learning, curiosity, and growth.
What I Offer
Safe, calm, attentive childcare
A supportive, patient environment
ASL communication and bilingual-friendly learning
Homework help/tutoring in science, math, and language arts

I’d love to meet your family, answer any questions you have, and see if I can be the right fit for your childcare needs.
