I am currently completing my GCSEs and will be finishing secondary school this year. I hope to become a primary school teacher in the future, which has encouraged me to gain experience working with and caring for children.
I have experience caring for children through both family babysitting and a week of work experience at a primary school. During my work experience, I supported staff in the classroom, helped children with activities, and developed my understanding of how to engage with and care for young children.
I have regularly babysat my younger cousins and am confident looking after toddlers and young children. I am able to prepare simple meals, clean and tidy up after children, help with bathing, change nappies when needed, follow bedtime and nap routines, and keep children safe and entertained through age-appropriate activities. I can also take children on walks or outings where appropriate, although I am not yet old enough to drive.
While I do not have any formal childcare qualifications or training, I am familiar with CPR and basic emergency response. I am responsible, patient, reliable, and attentive, and I understand the importance of maintaining a safe environment while ensuring children are happy, comfortable, and well cared for.
