Hi! My name is Onakah, and I have a true passion for caring for both children and animals. I have years of hands-on experience that began at a young age while helping in my mom’s in-home daycare. Since then, I’ve worked in a daycare, babysat for multiple families, and spent about five years volunteering in my church’s Kids Count program, where I cared for children of all ages. I’ve also volunteered through my church in other children’s programs, giving me even more experience creating a safe, fun, and loving environment.
I currently live with my sister and help care for her two young children, so I’m very comfortable with the day-to-day responsibilities of childcare. My experience includes feeding children, preparing meals and snacks, changing diapers, helping with bedtime routines, overnight care, administering medications when needed, keeping children engaged through play, arts and crafts, drawing, reading, and creating a nurturing, positive environment where they feel safe and supported. I’m also an experienced pet sitter and love spending time with animals. I have my own dog, Ollie, and have helped care for my sister’s two Golden Retrievers, my mom’s three dogs, my cousins’ dogs, and pets belonging to other families. I’m comfortable feeding pets, giving medications, taking dogs on walks, playing with them, providing companionship, and making sure they receive plenty of love and attention while their owners are away.
