Caring & Responsible Sitter for Kids and Pets | Available Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs.

Hi! I’m a responsible, caring, and dependable sitter who loves working with both children and animals. I’m looking to build my experience while providing families with reliable and attentive care.

I have experience caring for my 5-year-old niece, who has ADHD. Because she could be very energetic and sometimes had difficulty staying focused on one activity, I learned to be patient and flexible with her. I became comfortable finding different ways to keep her engaged, breaking activities into smaller steps, offering choices, and finding compromises that helped her accomplish things without becoming frustrated.

I also have previous experience helping a family friend care for their babies when I was around 12–13 years old. I helped with bottle feeding, spoon feeding, solid foods, holding and comforting the babies, and general supervision. While I didn’t handle diaper changes at the time, I am comfortable learning and following a parent’s instructions for diapering.

I also enjoy keeping kids entertained with age-appropriate games, crafts, reading, and other activities while making sure they feel safe and comfortable.

I have experience caring for pets at home as well and am comfortable with feeding, providing fresh water, playtime, cleaning up, and following specific routines and instructions from pet parents.

I’m still building my professional babysitting and pet-sitting experience, but I’m responsible, patient, and eager to learn. I’m currently working toward additional childcare and pet-care safety training, including CPR/first aid. I regularly study American Red Cross educational materials covering basic CPR, AED use, choking emergencies, and bleeding control so that I can build my knowledge while I work toward certification.

I am available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the afternoons & Evenings, but am willing to work around that schedule if you need specific times or days, feel free to ask!

I want every child and pet in my care to feel safe, comfortable, listened to, and well cared for!

1. Look for relevant experience

Choose babysitters who have worked with children with similar diagnoses, behaviors, or medical needs.

2. Check training and certifications

Ask about CPR, first aid, and any specialized training (e.g., administering medication, ABA therapy, seizure response).

3. Ask detailed questions

Discuss how they would handle meltdowns, medical emergencies, or communication challenges.

4. Request references

Speak to families of children with special needs they’ve cared for before.

5. Arrange a meet-and-greet

Observe how they interact with your child and whether they connect in a patient, caring way.

6. Be clear about routines

Provide written instructions for meals, bedtime, medications, and calming strategies.

7. Communicate about triggers and supports

Share sensory sensitivities, behavioral strategies, and comfort items.

8. Confirm reliability

Ensure they can commit to consistent care and handle unexpected situations calmly.
