Activity summary
Experienced, reliable babysitter with childcare training and a passion for creating safe, positive experiences for children.
Hi! My name is Alexis, and I am a Sophomore at South Eugene High School and caring for children has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. My babysitting journey began with helping raise my younger sister from her newborn years to the energetic 6-year-old she is today, and along the way I discovered how much I enjoy working with children. Through years of hands-on experience caring for my sister and younger nieces, I’ve developed strong childcare skills, patience, and a commitment to creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and feel comfortable while parents have peace of mind.

I am a responsible, patient, and caring babysitter with several years of hands-on childcare experience. My first experience caring for children began with my younger sister, who is now 6 years old. I helped care for her from her newborn stage through her toddler and childhood years, which provided me with valuable experience and helped build the skills I use today. Because my parents worked during the day, I was often responsible for babysitting her for up to six hours after school. This taught me how to adapt to different situations, solve problems independently, and learn important childcare skills over time.
Through this experience, I discovered that I genuinely enjoy working with children and would like to continue pursuing babysitting opportunities. In addition to caring for my sister, I have also occasionally babysat my nieces, who are 2 and 7 years old, giving me experience working with children of different ages and developmental stages.
My childcare experience includes changing diapers, preparing meals and snacks, maintaining routines, helping with basic hygiene, supervising playtime, creating fun and age-appropriate activities, and providing a safe and positive environment for children. I understand the importance of keeping children engaged, entertained, and cared for while also maintaining structure and responsibility.
As a Sophomore in high school, I completed Health and Child Development courses, where I learned about child growth, development, safety, and caregiving practices. I am familiar with safety precautions and appropriate responses in emergency situations, including recognizing and responding to choking incidents. I am highly aware of my surroundings and always prioritize the safety, well-being, and care of the children I supervise.
Overall, my years of hands-on experience, education, and genuine passion for childcare have prepared me to be a dependable and attentive babysitter for families.
