I worked as a nanny, babysitter and camp counsellor for over 20 years. I am also an aunt and a mother-to-be and have completed and am currently resitting newborn care courses. I also coached children’s cheerleading and soccer and was a French tutor for 2 years. I also volunteer in a local Montessori school, predominately running arts and crafts activities.
I have conversational in both French and Spanish (and native English speaker) and feel comfortable tutoring beginners in any of these three languages. I am also comfortable preparing and leading art/drawing and crafts.
As for pets, I was a foster for both cats and dogs for 2 years, until we adopted our own cats. We have had our cats for 3 years now and prior to fostering and owning cats had also owned guinea pigs, rabbits and tropical fish. I am comfortable with all these animals. Of our fosters we supported behavioural issues, such as trauma and abuse reactions (from previous owners) leash training and toilet training. For cats, we supported animals with kidney stones, diabetes (requiring daily insulin shots), eye infections (using a medial syringe) and oral antibiotics. I also dog sit and walk my neighbours dog, husky x German Shepard mix.

I grew up with a younger brother who is two years younger, and have recently spent the last 3 years living with my Aunt and her two younger kids (aged 7 & 8) as well as their cousins (aged 6 & 8). I have experience with kids of many ages as I have frequently volunteered for childminding at my school and spent time at a local church helping out with childcare the past year. I also spent the last year tutoring students to increase their reading and comprehension skills. I spent time with kids in grades 2-4 and have built experience in handling frustration and boredom in children.
