Hello! My name is Sierra, and I’m originally from the USA (St. Louis, Missouri). I’m currently studying at the University of Auckland, pursuing a degree in International Law with a focus on Justice and Human Rights. I have a deep passion for working with people, and I bring a wealth of experience in both baby and pet sitting.
I have over 9 years of experience babysitting children, ranging from family and friends to new families, and I’ve developed a strong ability to create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for children of all ages. In addition, I’ve spent 10 years pet-sitting and walking dogs, with significant experience managing large dog breeds, including Alaskan Malamutes and Siberian Huskies.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with children in various settings. I was a Nursery Staff member caring for children ages 0-6, and a Swim Instructor where I taught swimming to children ages 3-8. Additionally, I volunteered with the International Rescue Committee, assisting asylum-seeking families, and worked as a Worldpackers Volunteer in Tanzania, teaching English and math to children ages 1-6. These experiences have given me the skills to manage a wide range of child care needs and ensure a positive, safe experience for all.
I am also a certified Lifeguard. Through this I've gained extensive knowledge in water safety, ensuring the safety of over 100 guests in a busy pool environment, and open water events for lake, oceans and rivers. Additionally, as Media Coordinator for Backyard Lifeguards, I focus on sharing valuable water safety information with the public, creating engaging content to educate and excite people about sun safety and water-related tips.
I am CPR and First Aid certified, ensuring that I’m prepared to respond to any emergency. I also hold an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card, which demonstrates my commitment to safety and professionalism.
