How can I help? 😊

Hi! My name is Beth, I am 17 and looking for work outside of my school hours. I have experience with children- I have a younger cousin I babysit for and I also volunteer at my school in a P1 class every week, so I’m used to working with children and really enjoy it. I also work hard at school and get good grades, so I’m able to help children with homework. I’m also happy to look after pets and walk dogs. I have a dog of my own (Hungarian vizsla) who I adore and take on lots of walks. She gets nervous around other dogs and is scared of loud bangs, but I’ve learnt to calm her down and keep her under control. I keep her out of stressful situations as much as possible, so I can look after any nervous dogs too. She also had a litter two years ago so I have experience with puppies and pregnant dogs! I finish school 3:35pm Monday-Thursday and 1pm on Friday, so I’m available to help after these times (would have to also take into account the time to travel to your location, I stay in G13). I’m happy to stay after 12am on Fridays and Saturdays too.

I got 6 As in my sqa highers so I’m able to help with the children’s work and studies. I also play the piano, flute and sing, so I’d be more than happy to help with the basics! I recently started a part time job where I often do kids parties where I work with kids of a range of ages and play games with them, do face paint and sometimes even dress up as a mascot! I also work with a P1 class for two hours every week! I play games with them and help with their maths, reading, spelling and writing. It’s really important to be patient and understanding, while also making sure the kids have some fun too!

Animal lover available for pet check-ins, walks and care

Hey, I’m Egemen. I’m a student from Glasgow and I really love animals. At home we have a cross Maine Coon and I’ve got some experience walking my aunt’s cross Jack Russell. I’m friendly, reliable and happy to come by your place to feed, walk, play with and take care of your pets while you’re out. I don’t offer pet care in my own home, but I’m happy to help with check-ins and visits. I’m usually free most evenings and weekends. Feel free to message me if you’re looking for someone local who genuinely enjoys being around animals.

Top 10 Tips For Hiring A Dog Walker

Follow these handy tips for hiring a dog walker so you know your pup is in safe, reliable hands.

1. Check experience

Look for walkers who have worked with dogs of similar size, breed, and temperament.

2. Verify credentials

Ask about pet first aid/CPR certification and whether they’re insured and bonded.

3. Request references

Speak to past or current clients for honest feedback.

4. Meet in person

Arrange a meet-and-greet to see how your dog responds to them.

5. Discuss routines

Ensure they can stick to your dog’s feeding, walking, and medication schedule.

6. Ask about group walks

Clarify whether they walk multiple dogs at once or provide solo walks.

7. Check reliability

Confirm their backup plan in case they’re sick or unavailable.

8. Look for communication

Choose someone who provides updates, photos, or reports after walks.

9. Test with a trial walk

Start with a short session to assess how your dog and the walker get along.

10. Clarify policies

Go over payment, cancellations, keys/access to your home, and emergency procedures.
