I’m here to help out, keep things fun, and make sure your kids are safe and happy! ?
Hi, I’m Penny!
I’m nearly seventeen and currently studying for my A-Levels (English Lit, Politics and Film). I have experience with children from nursery age to Year 2 through volunteering at my former primary school. I absolutely love spending time with children, and I believe that being a teenager gives me a unique advantage in connecting with them.
My mum was a childminder, and being older than the kids she cared for, I often helped out. This definitely built the foundations for my passion towards caring for children.
I’m outgoing, friendly, and always aim to treat young people with respect and dignity. I believe that building trust and mutual understanding is key to working well with children, and being close in age allows me to relate to them in a natural way. I also have very universal interests - like video games - which often become a shared topic of conversation!
I currently have a part-time job at McDonald’s, where I interact with children and families every day. This role has strengthened my communication skills, time management, and ability to stay calm and efficient in busy environments.
I live on the outskirts of Plymouth, but traveling around the city is no issue. As I’m currently in school and also working part-time, I am available at specific times. I can work evenings on Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as Saturdays and occasionally Wednesdays. Depending on the week, this may change, but Mondays and Tuesdays will always be free.
I’m hopeless at maths, but I’d consider myself to be skilled in English as I’m studying it as an A-Level and have hopes to continue it in university. With this knowledge I can help out with homework or any other literature-based activity. I also have no issue with small meals or snacks.
Overall, I really enjoy spending time with kids, whether that’s playing games, tidying up, or just keeping them company. Babysitting is something I take seriously, but I also like to make it fun and relaxed for everyone involved. If you think I might be a good fit for your family, I’d be more than happy to chat or answer any questions! 😋
