How can I help? 😊

Hi! My name is Beth, I am 17 and looking for work outside of my school hours. I have experience with children- I have a younger cousin I babysit for and I also volunteer at my school in a P1 class every week, so I’m used to working with children and really enjoy it. I also work hard at school and get good grades, so I’m able to help children with homework. I’m also happy to look after pets and walk dogs. I have a dog of my own (Hungarian vizsla) who I adore and take on lots of walks. She gets nervous around other dogs and is scared of loud bangs, but I’ve learnt to calm her down and keep her under control. I keep her out of stressful situations as much as possible, so I can look after any nervous dogs too. She also had a litter two years ago so I have experience with puppies and pregnant dogs! I finish school 3:35pm Monday-Thursday and 1pm on Friday, so I’m available to help after these times (would have to also take into account the time to travel to your location, I stay in G13). I’m happy to stay after 12am on Fridays and Saturdays too.

I recently started a part time job where I often do kids parties where I work with kids of a range of ages and play games with them, do face paint and sometimes even dress up as a mascot! I also work with a P1 class for two hours every week! I play games with them and help with their maths, reading, spelling and writing. It’s really important to be patient and understanding, while also making sure the kids have some fun too!

Top 10 Tips For Hiring A Pet Daycare Provider

Follow these handy tips for hiring a private pet daycare provider so your furry friend gets the best care while you’re away.

1. Check Experience with Your Pet Type

Ask about their background caring for dogs, cats, or other pets. Make sure they understand breed-specific needs, temperaments, and behaviors.

2. Verify Training & Certifications

Look for pet CPR/first aid certification, animal handling training, or professional memberships in pet care associations.

3. Tour the Facility or Home

Visit the daycare space to check for cleanliness, safety measures, secure fencing, and pet-friendly areas.

4. Ask About Daily Routine

Find out what a typical day looks like—exercise, playtime, feeding, rest, and socialization opportunities.

5. Understand Supervision Levels

Confirm how many pets they care for at once and whether constant supervision is provided, especially during group play.

6. Review Health & Safety Policies

Ask about vaccination requirements, flea/tick prevention, emergency plans, and how illnesses or injuries are handled.

7. Check References & Reviews

Speak with past or current clients, and ask for customer reviews to ensure reliability and positive experiences.

8. Clarify Communication

Ask how they’ll keep you updated—daily texts, photos, or reports—so you know your pet is happy and safe.

9. Discuss Rates & Inclusions

Make sure you understand the cost, what’s included (walks, grooming, food), and if there are extra fees for late pickup or special care.

10. Do a Trial Day

Start with a short daycare session to see how your pet adjusts, and gauge the provider’s attentiveness and professionalism.
